RESETTING THE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED LIGHT

The Maintenance Required light comes on at factory predetermined milage intervals. If this light has illuminated, there's nothing to to be worried about. It just means that the car is telling you that it is time for a scheduled service of some kind.

Usually when you take your car in to have a shop service it, they will reset the maintenance light for you, however sometimes you'd like to do the work yourself and get rid of that flashing light on your own.

The process is really easy, when you're sitting in the driver seat reach down with your right hand underneath the dash about where your right knee would be. Tucked underneath the dash panel you will feel a small black box about 3"x3" with a small square button in the middle of it, facing down. All you need to do, is press the button down and while holding it down, turn the ignition key from:

OFF -> ON -> OFF -> Start the car -> Release button

That's all there is to it! The Maintenance Required light should now be dimmed until the next time you reach another scheduled service milage.
